How Done Sustainably Approaches Its Work
• Done Sustainably works alongside organizations to understand how knowledge actually moves through people and systems. Rather than introducing new expertise, they help teams make their existing knowledge visible, usable, and sustainable through thoughtful learning structures and documentation.
• This work begins by being present inside an organization to understand how learning, communication, and day-to-day work actually happen. That first-hand perspective reveals the relationships, routines, and informal knowledge that often go undocumented but are essential to how an organization functions. From there, Done Sustainably supports teams in building the structures and documentation that allow this knowledge to be shared, sustained, and carried forward over time.
Why Observation Comes Before Solutions
• Done Sustainably begins with observation because many organizational challenges are not problems of effort or intent, but of misalignment and unseen patterns. When teams move too quickly to solutions, they often end up addressing symptoms rather than the underlying conditions that shape how people actually work and learn.
• By spending time understanding what is happening in practice, Done Sustainably is able to identify the right questions before proposing answers. This early phase creates shared understanding and prevents well intentioned solutions from adding complexity or strain that organizations then have to undo later.

Abe was able to create a new curriculum for students that they enjoyed. Students were able to learn new skills and create new things that kept them engaged throughout the day while also being able to play games and win prizes. He was able to delegate the curriculum to staff ahead of time and become a support if questions came up or support was needed. This being the first year where the curriculum was implemented made a big impact on how the project will be moving forward.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the support and opportunities you’ve provided me during my journey as an Educational Coordinator. When I first joined, I felt overwhelmed—especially when it came to technology. Despite my decade of hands-on human service experience, I struggled with new programs/technologies and doubted my ability to adapt. But thanks to the mentorship and resources Abe provided I’ve grown tremendously.
Abe, our in-house teacher trainer, played a pivotal role in this transformation. His patience and innovative teaching methods helped me turn my weaknesses into strengths. For example, I initially felt defeated by Canva, especially when I saw my colleagues excelling with it. But Abe noticed my confidence dipping and assigned me a tailored task: creating slides that broke down the rules of different sports, a subject I’m passionate about. Through this project, I gained the confidence to ask questions I’d been too embarrassed to voice in group settings. By connecting my interests to the skill I needed to learn, Abe helped me master Canva in a way that felt natural and engaging.

Abe has played a significant role in supporting me during the transitions with Gresham High School.
